Beauty Thursday

Hello All!
I am still trying to get the hang of blogging and deciding where I want to go with it because there are so many fun things I want to post! I have an affinity for trying new beauty products and have also been a subscriber to Birchbox for a year and Ipsy for a few months.
I'm not sure my clear opinion on these subscription beauty boxes because they truly vary from month to month in terms of value. However, I do enjoy the surprise each month brings with these. Hey if I don't get mail I can at least look forward to these and who doesn't like surprises?!

This month though I realized some of my favorite hair products from Birchbox were almost all gone! Now I thought to had not found any new obsessions yet from it, I was pretty sad to realize they were almost all gone! With a double Birchbox points promo code, and free shipping I  decided to give in.

The red bottle is Beauty Protector Protect and Detangle. It retails for $22 available only on the Birchbox site. This is great to use when blow drying or straightening as a smoother and heat protectant. However what finally clicked with me on this product is not only does it have a warm, sweet scent but it LASTS! Usually hair products do not smell all day in my hair but this leaves a beautiful perfume-like aroma that complents my other perfumes and lotions I use.
The next is Amika Nourishing Hair Mask which is a small tube for $12.  I have long hair and love trying new masks once in awhile and the smell on this one hooked me too! It reminds me of Juicy Couture Viva la Juicy fragrance. It also did not leave my hair feeling greasy or weighed down.
Lastly is an item I tried and enjoyed and I added a full size to raise my total cost to $35 to get the promo! This $8 tin is J.R. Watkins peppermint foot salve. I bought this with hands and feet in mind and is nice before bed! It sinks into skin and the directions say to put on your feet before putting on socks. This is great after a long day because it does have a soothing affect in tired feet! I used some of this sample throughout last summer and will definitely be using it this summer as well especially to extend those pedis or soothe feet after walking around the pool all day! Can you tell I'm dreaming of warmer weather?!
Bottom line... If you are willing to pay a little more for some high quality, fabulous smelling products. Then these are for you! Subscribers of Birchbox, don't forget to use your points when you pay!

Have you tried any of these beauty products? Do you subscribe to Birchbox or Ipsy?

New Years... Resolutions?

I don't know about you all but I do not usually make large scale resolutions. I always try and get in the swing of things more when January hits but never make big plans. There are some things I am trying to be better about this year, or at least for a few months haha.
-Be more organized. I have been doing some cleaning and am trying to keep it that way! As you can see here is my wardrobe I get dressed from everyday. I have purchased several packs of space saving hangers via TJ Maxx and Marshall's which truly do help your closet and allow you to see all your items!

-Go to the gym more: I am shooting for at least 3 times per week given my busy schedule and I would also like to do a 5K this spring.
-No shopping for the month of January! I have sooo many clothes and even got some things for Christmas. I think I can do it and hold off on spring wardrobe purchases until February. However my trips to Target will sure tempt my challenge! I also color coordinate my tops which also help me see things when getting ready in the morning.

What do you do to stay organized? What are some of your plans this year?

Xoxo

Welcome! Happy New Year!

Hello Lovelies!

Over the past year I have wanted a creative outlet to combine my too loves: health and fashion. So I hope to post about a little bit of everything that many women of all ages can relate to. I love to talk and have loved seeing how the Instagram community inspires everyone for fashion inspiration. (Or just makes us all shop a little more haha)

I thought that this would be a great time to start a blog on these two subjects with resolutions about health being a huge part of everyone's New Year's plans.

So thank you for reading and look forward to a mix of cooking, health, trends and of course, fashion, or  as I as a dietitian like to call it, A Healthy Portion of Fashion.

Enjoy!
